November 15th, 2009 - Future Development
I know there hasn’t been any production work done on the bot in a while. Over 2 years since 4.5.2 has been released. That needs to change.
As you may or may not have noticed, I have no development staff. And my support staff hasn’t logged in since the last version. That’s the problem.
So, here’s what I would like to see in future development… First, I know there are compatibility issues with newer versions of mIRC. I would like to get that sorted out and fix any bugs that exist.
The other plan is to pull YB away from mIRC. I know there are a lot of issues to address with that plan. What language to use, how to keep support for user mods, etc.
In order to do any of this, I need help. My mIRC coding has gotten a bit rusty. I need volunteers for coding. If you’re interested, please contact me via e-mail at volunteer@ybbot.com.
As a rule, I don’t solicit support staff. When I see people who help out somewhat regularly, I tag them as a “Support Helper”. At some point, I offer those people a chance to be an official support staff member. That may change if the need presents itself.
